A wheel-thrown flagon vase. Mixed stoneware clay with a transparent glaze on the interior. Fired to 1260 degrees. The maker's mark on the base.
A decorative take on the capacious forms of ancient ceramic storage vessels, the flagons are made from various mixed stoneware clays, thrown on the wheel and then altered and shaped by hand whilst the clay is still soft. Each pot is unique, expressing the natural movement of the soft clay and the individual texture of the material.
