Flared mugs. The broad handles have a smooth, bevelled underside and a scroll top thumb rest. Light flecked stoneware clay with a satin white glaze. Fired to 1250 degrees. The maker's mark on the base.
Inspired by forms seen in ancient Cycladic and Minoan pottery, where the handle often springs from the rim of the vessel. These mugs are thrown and turned on the wheel, the handles extruded and then shaped and attached carefully by hand. Made in batches, the mugs will be similar but differ slightly from pot to pot. Simple glazes accentuate the form.
